It’s nick and I already know what your thinking. “Oh Nick is slow, more delays BLUH BLUH” Well, I’m going to say the web hosting company I went with for new site… doesn’t deserve the business of Ham Radio and I kicked the bridge down. Why?
Ok, I screwed up on the configuration of the database server password. it rendered the distribution of the database unable to talk to the WordPress module on the hosting with them. that got fixed and all good, BUT one of the selling features for service , the ability to scale the website and offload a big amount of the content to edge servers worldwide to make a fast for everyone to use the site! I requested support for them to simply look into why the CDN (which worked automatically without needing for me to do anything!) wasn’t functioning. what did they do? here’s a guide to CDN configuration. they wanted to me to fix the issue for them, using a method that i hadn’t used for before nor would it be able to do. PLUS it isn’t even for the right service i’m using. when i requested support again, i got the same answer “we don’t know what your talking about, our system says the CDN is active for domain and should be working” and given the same link to the guide put the same ip in the plugin because i’m using shared cdn… it doesn’t like the Ip address. mind you. I hadn’t had to do this before when i signed up for the hosting with them. i went BUH BYE. the backups and configurations and pretty much everything needs for new site is backed up. i’m going to overlay the design and features that don’t require the content delivery network systems to this server ( I would love to implement it but I don’t have access to the domain name system for site account, which is why I can’t put it in. That’s why I want to migrate site to servers even better on performance bit that will take time. For now, no dynamic web pages, audio player will be crippled to only work on web page its enabled on. no “Ajaxing” for now (because it will overload and slow down the server we are on thar also hosts other sites and would affect them as we would be hogging resources and we can’t do that) I’ll have to wait to do the big improvements until suitable WebHost and servers are found and the server is configured… only then will the future of hamradioshow.com will be reach the full potiental
